Kraft Television Theatre is an American anthology drama television series running from 1947 to 1958. It began May 7, 1947 on NBC, airing at 7:30pm on Wednesday evenings until December of that year. It first promoted MacLaren's Imperial Cheese, which was advertised nowhere else.

views 1,838,334 updated. Kraft Television Theatre. From the opening night on May 1, 1947, until its close on October 1, 1958, the Kraft Television Theatre produced 650 small screen dramas of remarkably high quality and consistency.
During the 11 years it was on the air, Kraft Television Theatre presented 650 plays, which were, for the most part, presented live and employed 3,955 actors in over 6,750 roles. It was also the first dramatic series to experiment (in 1953) with colour broadcasts, and it presented two hour-long productions each week (on separate networks).
