Margaret Wentworth. Lady Jane Seymour (1507/1508–October 24, 1537), was a queen of England and the third wife of Henry VIII, who bore him the son and heir he so ardently desired in Edward VI. Henry courted her while still married to Anne Boleyn. She became betrothed to Henry just one day after the execution of Anne.

She first came to court as a lady-in-waiting to Katharine of Aragon, Henry VIII’s first wife. But soon enough Anne Boleyn was queen and Jane attended her. 3 de jun. de 2021 · Jane Seymour, Henry VIII ’s third wife, was born in around 1508. Her kinsman, the courtier Sir Francis Bryan, secured a place for her in the service of Queen Catherine of Aragon. Jane later transferred into the household of Catherine’s successor, Anne Boleyn. By 1535, Jane was in her late twenties, with few marriage prospects.
The birth of Prince Edward. Jane provided Henry with what he most wanted: a son. Prince Edward was born at Hampton Court Palace in the early hours of 12 October 1537. Jane developed post-natal complications after a difficult birth. She witnessed part of Edward's elaborate christening procession at Hampton Court but her condition worsened.
