Das Stift wurde 1056 von Bischof Adalbero gegründet und nähert sich dem 1000-Jahr-Jubiläum. Das Kloster am Fluss erlebte viele gute, aber auch schlechtere Jahre, fruchtbringende und schwere Zeiten wechselten einander ab. Doch das Stift Lambach hat bis heute Bestand.
