Lennart Bernadotte (Estocolmo, 8 de mayo de 1909 – Mainau, 21 de diciembre de 2004) fue un príncipe sueco. Cómo nieto de Gustavo V de Suecia nació siendo príncipe de Suecia y duque de Smolandia, títulos de los que fue privado [ 1 ] tras contraer matrimonio morganático en 1932.
Lennart Bernadotte concentrated his energy on his estate on the island of Mainau in Lake Constance, Germany, where he died, and on his charitable fund, the Lennart Bernadotte Stiftung. He was considered a major gardening and landscaping talent and expert and turned his island into a popular tourist attraction.
Lennart Bernadotte fue un príncipe sueco. Cómo nieto de Gustavo V de Suecia nació siendo príncipe de Suecia y duque de Smolandia, títulos de los que fue privado tras contraer matrimonio morganático en 1932. Le fueron conferidos en 1951 el título vitalicio: príncipe Bernadotte y el título herederitario: conde de Wisborg, por la entonces monarca de Luxemburgo, la gran duquesa Carlota.
When Lennart Bernadotte was a teenager, he moved in with his father at Stenhammar Palace. The Prince completed his school exams in 1927 and became a Reserve Lieutenant in 1930. Before her death in 1930, his grandmother had left her Lake Constance castle and estate, Mainau, to the prince and he took over its management in 1932.
The House of Bernadotte is the royal family of Sweden, founded there in 1818 by King Charles XIV John of Sweden. It was also the royal family of Norway between 1818 and 1905. Its founder was born in Pau in southern France as Jean Bernadotte.
