Leon Chwistek ( Kraków, Austria-Hungary, 13 June 1884 – Barvikha near Moscow, Russia, 20 August 1944) was a Polish avant-garde painter, theoretician of modern art, literary critic, logician, philosopher and mathematician . Career and philosophy. In 1919 he was one of the founders of the Polish Mathematical Society.
Profesor de la Universidad de Cracovia y, desde 1930, en la de Lvov, donde enseñó lógica matemática. Sostuvo la tesis de la pluralidad de realidades, de las cuales enunció cuatro tipos: 1) Los objetos naturales del sentido común. 2) Los objetos de la física, que son construcciones conceptuales.

Pintor constructivista, teórico del arte y filósofo especializado en lógica. Como lógico estuvo vinculado a la escuela de Varsovia. Nació en Zakopane (Polonia) el 13 de junio de 1884 y estudió lógica, filosofía y matemáticas en Cracovia, estudios que compaginó con su dedicación a las bellas artes.
