It involved an affair between Lady Edwina Mountbatten and a Black cabaret singer called Leslie "Hutch" Hutchinson. Lady Edwina was the wife of Lord Louis Mountbatten, who was the uncle of Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.
