Lionel Cranfield Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset KG PC (18 January 1688 – 10 October 1765) was an English peer and politician who served as Lord President of the Council from 1745 to 1751. He also twice served as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1730 to 1737 and again from 1750 to 1755.

He married his second wife, Mary Compton, daughter of James Compton, 3rd Earl of Northampton and Hon. Mary Noel, on 7 March 1685; they had two children together, Lionel Cranfield Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset and Mary Sackville (1689–1705).

Lionel Cranfield Sackville, 1st Duke Of Dorset (January 18, 1688 - October 10, 1765) was an English political leader and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. Lionel was the son of Charles Sackville, 6th Earl of Dorset and Mary Compton Sackville.

Thomas Sackville, primer conde de Dorset (1536-19 de abril de 1608) fue un estadista, poeta y dramaturgo inglés. Era hijo de Richard Sackville, primo de Ana Bolena. Fue miembro del Parlamento y Lord Alto Tesorero.
Surnommé Lord Buckhurst dès sa naissance, il succéda à son père en tant que 7e comte de Dorset et 2e comte de Middlesex en 1706, et fut créé duc de Dorset en 1720. Il s'est disputé avec le roi en 1717 et on lui a dit que ses services n'étaient plus requis, mais il a été fait duc trois ans plus tard.
