  7. The fourth place finisher, Liselotte Landbeck representing Belgium, was born in Vienna. While in her teens, she was one of the best speed skaters in the world, winning the unofficial world championships in Oslo 1933. Five times she bettered the world record in the 500 and 1000 m during the years 1932-1934.
