Liubartas (también Lubart, Lubko, bautizado Demetrio; fallecido 1384) fue gobernante del Principado de Halych-Volynia, en la Ucrania actual. Fue el hijo menor de Gediminas, Gran Duque de Lituania. El castillo tuvo su origen en el siglo XIV como sede fortificada del hijo de Liubartas Gediminas (Lubart), el último gobernante del principado de Galicia-Volinia. Este castillo es el lugar más emblemático de Lutsk.
After Liubartas accepted Orthodoxy and was baptized as Dymytrii, Andrii awarded him the Lutsk land. Biography. The origin of Liubartas is uncertain. It is known that he was the youngest son of Gediminas, Grand Duke of Lithuania. In the early 1320s he married a daughter of Andrew of Galicia and ruled Lutsk with Liubar (today town in Zhytomyr Oblast) in eastern Volhynia. [1]
