Lord Adolphus Frederick Charles William Vane-Tempest (2 July 1825 – 11 June 1864), known until 1854 as Lord Adolphus Vane, was a Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom. He was the fourth child (and second son) of Charles Vane, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry and his wife Frances Anne Vane, Marchioness of Londonderry .
Francis Adolphus Vane-Tempest (4 January 1863 – 10 December 1932) was an English actor of the late-19th and early 20th centuries. He was known for playing amiable but not over-bright upper class characters. Among the roles he created was Mr Dumby in Oscar Wilde 's 1892 comedy Lady Windermere's Fan.
Susan married Lord Adolphus Vane-Tempest (2 July 1825 – 11 June 1864) on 23 April 1860, several weeks after her twenty-first birthday. He held the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Army and was allegedly an alcoholic as well as mentally unstable.

Adolphus, a Crimean War hero and Member of Parliament was the spoilt son of one of the legendary and most terrifying grandes dames of London society, Frances Anne, 3rd Lady Londonderry.
