  3. Adolphus Frederick, 1st duke of Cambridge (born Feb. 24, 1774, London, Eng.—died July 8, 1850, London) was a British field marshal, the seventh son of King George III. Having studied at the University of Göttingen , he served in the Hanoverian army and with the British army in the Low Countries , being severely wounded in 1793.
