Allegiance. Austria, England. Prince George Louis of Hessen-Darmstadt (25 April 1669 – 13 September 1705) was a Field Marshal in the Austrian army. He is known for his career in Habsburg Spain, as Viceroy of Catalonia (1698–1701), head of the Austrian army in the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–1705) and governor of Gibraltar in 1704.

She was the eldest daughter of Louis IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and his wife Countess Palatine Caroline of Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld. Marriage. She married Frederick V, Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg on 27 September 1768.
Louis (22 June 1658–31 August 1678), his successor (Louis VII). Sophie Marie (1661–1712) married in 1681 Duke Christian of Saxe-Eisenberg (1653–1707). 2. On 5 December 1666 he married Elisabeth Dorothea of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1640–1709), daughter of Ernest I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha. They also had eight children.
