World War II. Lucius Henry Charles Plantagenet Cary, 14th Viscount Falkland (25 January 1905 – 16 March 1984), styled Master of Falkland from 1922 to 1961, was a Scottish peer. The eldest son of Lucius Cary, 13th Viscount Falkland and his wife Ella, Cary was educated at Eton College . On 14 October 1926, Cary married Joan Sylvia Southey.
Lucius was the son of Henry Cary, created Viscount Falkland in 1620, and Elizabeth Tanfield. His early years were spent with his grandfather, Sir Lawrence Tanfield, Chief Baron of the Exchequer, whose estate was at Great Tew in Oxfordshire. At the age of twelve, Cary went to join his parents in Ireland, where his father was Lord Deputy.
Lucius Edward William Plantagenet Cary, 15th Viscount Falkland, was born on 8 May 1935. He was educated at Wellington College, and the Alliance Française, Paris. He succeeded to the title of the 15th Viscount Falkland, of Falkland in 1984, and was one of the ninety hereditary peers elected to remain in the House of Lords after the passing of the House of Lords Act 1999.
