24 de abr. de 2024 · Commissioned in 1495 by Ludovico Sforza, the Duke of Milan, “The Last Supper” was part of a larger scheme to renovate and beautify the church and its convent, which Sforza sought to use for dynastic and memorial purposes. Leonardo, already renowned for his artistic and intellectual prowess, embarked on the project in 1495 and completed it in 1498.

Hace 2 días · In 1482, Florentine ruler Lorenzo de’ Medici commissioned da Vinci to create a silver lyre and bring it as a peace gesture to Ludovico Sforza. After doing so, da Vinci lobbied Ludovico for a job and sent the future Duke of Milan a letter that barely mentioned his considerable talents as an artist and instead touted his more marketable skills as a military engineer.
