1694 Saxony Groschen This groschen was minted in 1694 and commemorates the death of John Greorge IV of Saxony. He died from smallpox and grief from the death of his mistress Magdalena Sibylla who claimed to have been poisoned by one of John Georges’s wives Eleonore Erdmuthe whom John George openly wanted to get rid of to be with Sibylla.
