Hace 3 días · Mary, Queen of Scots (8 December 1542 – 8 February 1587), also known as Mary Stuart [3] or Mary I of Scotland, [4] was Queen of Scotland from 14 December 1542 until her forced abdication in 1567. The only surviving legitimate child of James V of Scotland, Mary was six days old when her father died and she inherited the throne.

Born in 1143, he was the second of three sons of Henry, earl of Northumberland (d.1152) and Ada de Warenne (d.1178). He succeeded to the Scottish throne after the death of his eldest brother, Malcolm IV, on 9 December 1165, and was inaugurated on 24 December 1165.
Hace 3 días · He became the king's dapifer or steward in about 1150, and served as such for three successive Scottish kings: David, Malcolm IV and William I. In time, the stewardship became hereditarily held by Walter's descendants.
Hace 5 días · Biography. David, earl of Huntingdon, was the youngest son of Earl Henry (d.1152), son of David I of Scotland (d.1153), and of Ada de Warenne (d.1178). He was the brother of Kings Malcolm IV (d.1165) and William I (d.1214) of Scotland and had three sisters, Margaret, Ada and Maud.
