Marcia Arbuthnot (9 July 1774 – 24 May 1806) was the first wife of politician Charles Arbuthnot . Life. She was born Marcia Mary Anne Clapcott Lisle, the daughter of William Clapcott Lisle of Upwey, Dorset and his wife Hester Cholmondeley, the daughter of George Cholmondeley, Viscount Malpas ).
Engraved portrait of Marcia Clapcott-Lisle (1774–1806), first wife of Charles Arbuthnot. Arbuthnot was first married on 28 February 1799 to Marcia Mary Anne Clapcott Lisle, at Cholmondeley House, Piccadilly. She had been Lady-in-Waiting since 1795 to Caroline of Brunswick, Princess of Wales. She died in Constantinople on 24 May 1806.
Arbuthnot married Marcia Clapcott-Lisle, daughter of William and Mrs H. Clapcott-Lisle, in 1799. Marcia's mother was a sister of the Marquis of Cholmondeley and lady in waiting to the princess of Wales, Caroline of Brunswick. She accompanied Charles abroad, but died in childbirth in Constantinople in 1806.
