16 de jul. de 2021 · The future HMCS Margaret Brooke will remain docked at Jetty NJ at the CFB Halifax Dockyard while post-acceptance work and final ship preparation work are completed. A naming ceremony for the ship is expected to be held later in 2021, with a formal commissioning ceremony expected in fall 2022 as the ship officially enters into active RCN service.

Born in 1915 in Ardath, Saskatchewan, Margaret Martha Brooke enrolled in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Nursing Sister Dietician on March 9, 1942, at the rank of Sub-Lieutenant. She ultimately attained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on April 1, 1957, while serving in the RCN from 1942 to 1962.

The Trials are part of the ship’s post-acceptance program to demonstrate that the ship can operate safely in both the icy Arctic waters and the warm southern seas.
