Margaret Howard, Countess of Nottingham, by Cornelius Johnson, (Dunrobin Castle) Margaret Stuart (or Stewart) (c. 1591 – 4 August 1639), Scottish aristocrat and courtier in England. She served as lady-in-waiting to the queen consort of England, Anne of Denmark.
Margaret Howard, married in 1587 Sir Richard Leveson (died 1605), one child, died in infancy. After a mental breakdown, her wardship was awarded to her brother, William, on the death of Leveson and to her father in 1615. Elizabeth Howard (buried 31 March 1646). He was married secondly to Margaret Stuart, daughter of James Stuart, 2nd Earl of Moray and Elizabeth Stuart, 2nd Countess of Moray. She was more than 50 years younger than he was. They had two children: Charles Howard, 3rd Earl of Nottingham (1610–1681) Anne Howard (born c. 1612).
