Margaret Lyon (died 1625) was a Scottish aristocrat and landowner. She was the daughter of John Lyon, 7th Lord Glamis and Janet Keith, daughter of Robert Keith, Master of Marischal, and sister of William Keith, 4th Earl Marischal .

Biography. Margaret (Lyon) Lyon Marchioness of Hamilton is a member of Clan Lyon. Margaret Lyon was the daughter of John Lyon, 7th Lord Glamis and Janet Keith. [1] She married by contract, firstly, Gilbert Kennedy, 4th Earl of Cassillis, son of Gilbert Kennedy, 3rd Earl of Cassillis and Margaret Kennedy, on 30 September 1566. [2]
When Margaret Lyon was born on 30 December 1547, in Glamis Castle, Forfarshire, Scotland, her father, Lord John Lyon 7th of Glamis and Holmes, was 26 and her mother, Janet Keith, was 29. She married Gilbert Kennedy 4th Earl of Cassillis on 30 September 1562, in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.
