Margaret, born in 1308, was the fourth daughter of Roger de Mortimer, Earl of March. [3] She married Thomas Berkeley (as his first wife).

  6. A further chest tomb exists in the Lady Chapel with effigies of the 9th feudal baron (1368) and his mother Margaret Mortimer, Baroness Berkeley (d.1337). Many other Barons Berkeley are buried here. [1] The title Baron Berkeley originated as a feudal title and was subsequently created twice in the Peerage of England by writ.
