Margaret Stuart was born in 1150, in Moidart, Inverness-shire, Scotland as the daughter of Muchdanach of Moidart and Mrs Muchdanach of Moidart. She married Dubgall Mac Somairle about 1162, in Argyll, Scotland. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. She died in 1207, in her hometown, at the age of 57, and was buried in Scotland.

Born at Dalkeith Palace, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, she was the fourth child of James I, King of Great Britain and Anne Oldenburg, Princess of Denmark. She died at fifteen months in Linlithgow Palace, Scotland and was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh.
Membership. She was a member of the English Association from 1930 onwards, edited its News-Letter and contributed essays and book reviews to its journal, English. Dorothy Margaret Stuart, née Browne was a British poet and writer.
