  3. Margaretha van Mechelen woonde in Den Haag, dicht bij het stadhouderlijk hof van Maurits. Ook verbleef zij vaak in Rijswijk, waar Maurits’ stoeterij was. Van 1613 tot 1627 bewoonde zij een groot pand in de Houtstraat, dat zij op 21 januari 1627 aan Constantijn Huygens verkocht.
