Jacques de Foix (1463–1508) was a Count of Montfort and "Captal Buch," and the so-called “Infante of Navarre”. map showing Foix and Navarra. Born in early 1463, he was the ninth child of Gaston IV, Count of Foix and Bigorre, Viscount of Béarn, and his wife Eleanor (or Leonora) of Aragon, Queen of Navarre.

Catherine de Foix (c. 1455 – died before 1494) was a French noblewoman. She was a daughter of Gaston IV, Count of Foix, and Eleanor of Navarre, and was a granddaughter of John II of Aragon and Blanche I of Navarre. Catherine married Gaston de Foix, Count of Candale. As an heir of John de Foix, Earl of Kendal, he also continued to claim that English peerage and therefore was styled Comte de Candale. He firstly married Infanta Catherine of Navarre, the youngest daughter of Gaston IV, Count of Foix, and Eleanor of Navarre. They had four children: Gaston de Foix, 3rd Count of Candale.
Life and career. Bernal de Foix was an illegitimate son of Gaston III de Foix, the 11th Count of Foix. He was invested as the first Count of Medinaceli in 1368, and he married Doña Isabel de la Cerda in 1370. Isabel, the widow of Ruy Pérez Ponce de León, was the granddaughter of Alfonso de la Cerda, a grandson of King Alfonso X of Castile.
He was active in the defence and subsequent recovery of the city of Bordeaux. Then on 17 July 1453 he and John Talbot, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, fought the French forces at the Battle of Castillon.
