Margravine Philippine Auguste Amalie of Brandenburg-Schwedt (10 October 1745 – 1 May 1800) was a Landgravine consort of Hesse-Kassel by marriage to Frederick II, Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel . Life. Philippine was one of five children born to Margrave Frederick William of Brandenburg-Schwedt and his wife Princess Sophia Dorothea of Prussia. [1] .

Margravine of Brandenburg-Schwedt as a daughter of Margrave Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg-Schwedt and Princess Sophia Dorothea of Prussia. By her marriage to Friedrich II, Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel, she became Landgravine of Hesse-Kassel. Philippine died childless in Berlin on 1 May 1800, aged 54. Link to Wikipedia biography. Biography. Philip William was the eldest son of the Great Elector and his second wife, Princess Sophia Dorothea of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. One of her major endeavours was to ensure the financial security of her sons, mostly by the purchase of land.
