Countess Maria Aurora von Königsmarck (Swedish: Aurora Königsmarck) (28 August 1662 – 16 February 1728) was a Swedish and German noblewoman of Brandenburg extraction and mistress of Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland.

Maria Aurora wurde zur ersten offiziellen Mätresse August des Starken, zur „Maitresse en titrè". Klug wie sie war, verstand sie es, ihrer Position Glanz und Ansehen zu verleihen. Maria Aurora Gräfin von Königsmarck (* 28. April 1662 in Stade; † 16. Februar 1728 in Quedlinburg) war eine deutsche Adelige und Dichterin. Sie entstammte dem altmärkischen Adelsgeschlecht Königsmarck. Sie war Mätresse Augusts des Starken und danach Pröpstin des Stiftes Quedlinburg.

Aurora von Königsmarck nació como la segunda de los hijos y la hija mayor del conde Kurt Christoph von Königsmarck (1634-1673), hijo de Hans Christoff von Königsmarck , y su esposa, la condesa Maria Christina von Wrangel (1638-1691), hija de Conde Hermann von Wrangel y su esposa Amalia Magdalena, Condesa de Nassau-Siegen (1613-1669).
Aurora von Königsmarck was a writer of fiction who was also active within other cultural spheres. She served as an administrator for the noble secular canonesses in Quedlinburg in western Saxony. Aurora von Königsmarck was born in 1662. She was brought up at Agathenburg castle, near Stade.
