Maria Teresa was married to Pier Antonio Pinottini on June 13, 1752, and they settled in a district populated by intellects and artists, but eventually suffered severe financial ruin. Pinottini died not too long afterwards.

French traveller Charles de Brosses and Count Gerolamo Riccati were impressed by her music, and Habsburg ruler Maria Theresa and Princess Maria Antonia Walpurgis were her patrons. Maria Teresa Agnesi Pinottini died in Milan on 19 January 1795, aged seventy-four.
Certain accounts also note that the Holy Roman Empress and sovereign of Lombardy, Maria Theresa, sang arias that Agnesi wrote and gave to her. Agnesi married Pier Antonio Pinottini on June 13, 1752 but because of her husband’s financial irresponsibility, their marriage led to serious financial hardship.
