Mary Frances Elphinstone, Lady Elphinstone GCVO (née Bowes-Lyon; 30 August 1883 – 8 February 1961), was a British aristocrat. She was an elder sister of Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom later The Queen Mother, and a maternal aunt and godmother of Queen Elizabeth II.

Returning to Mary Elphinstone, who is associated with Inverurie and sometimes Kintore, is supposed to be buried for a second time in the same grave at either one of these cemeteries. Visitors to the grave are warned they may hear knocking coming from below the ground, as Mary may still not be dead!
