Mary Fleming ( / ˈflɛmɪŋ /; also spelled Marie Flemyng; 1542–fl. 1581) was a Scottish noblewoman and childhood companion and cousin of Mary, Queen of Scots. She and three other ladies-in-waiting ( Mary Livingston, Mary Beaton and Mary Seton) were collectively known as "The Four Marys". [1] .

5 de dic. de 2014 · One of the best-known Flemings in the history of Scotland is perhaps Mary Fleming, one of the Four Maries that accompanied Mary Queen Of Scots. Even to this day Mary Fleming’s life is celebrated in the Scottish towns of Biggar and Cumbernauld.
The four Marys, as they became known, were the companions and ladies-in-waiting of Mary, Queen of Scots: Mary Seton, Mary Beaton, Mary Fleming and Mary Livingston. In 1548, the four Marys joined their Queen at Inchmahome Priory in preparation for their journey to France.

6 de mar. de 2017 · After the Maries and Queen Mary returned to Scotland in 1561, Mary Fleming remained a lady-in-waiting to the Queen. After a courtship of three years, she married Sir William Maitland of Lethington, the queen's secretary of state, on January 6, 1568.
Mary Fleming (1542-January 1581) was a Scottish noblewoman and a lady-in-waiting to her cousin Mary, Queen of Scots. Mary Fleming was born in 1542, the daughter of Malcolm Fleming, 3rd Lord Fleming; she was born in the same year as her father's capture at the Battle of Solway Moss.
