Mary of York was the second daughter of King Edward IV of England and his queen consort Elizabeth Woodville. She spent her early years in close connection with her older sister Elizabeth of York. Raised and educated together, the princesses were accustomed to frequent relocations between royal residences and participated in court festivities and state visits.
Mary of York (11 August 1467 – 23 May 1482) was the second daughter of King Edward IV of England and his queen consort Elizabeth Woodville. 26 de dic. de 2019 · In 1516, Catherine was asked to be godmother to the future Queen Mary I. She lived out her last years in quiet and died in November 1527 at Tiverton Castle. She was buried in the Tiverton parish church, but her tomb has not survived. She would be the last of the York sisters to die. 1

After Victoria's death in January 1901, Mary was known as Princess Mary of Cornwall and York, until her father's creation as Prince of Wales in November of that year, when she assumed the title "Princess Mary of Wales". Upon her father's accession as George V in 1910, Mary assumed the style of "Her Royal Highness The Princess Mary".
