2 de may. de 2024 · Fu grazie alla cugina Matilde che l’imperatore, dopo essere rimasto per tre giorni a supplicare sotto la neve a piedi nudi (1077), ottenne il perdono e venne ricevuto dal Papa nel castello di Canossa. Interessante è adesso parlare del banchetto di riconciliazione che avvenne fra i due sovrani.
