In 1548, when the Oda clan invaded Mikawa, Hirotada turned to Imagawa Yoshimoto, the head of the Imagawa clan, for help to repel the invaders. Yoshimoto agreed under the condition that Hirotada send Ieyasu to Sunpu as a hostage.

The swordsmith name “Kanenori (包則)” lasted two generations, and based on the signature, we believe the second generation made it.

Hace 5 días · This blade is attributed to the work of Jyokeshi Masa-Aki (城慶子正明) according to NTHK-NPO that appraised this blade. The certificate mentioned it was approximately forged during the Keio era (1865-1868: Bakumatsu era) in Edo. Masa-Aki was active in sword-forging during the Kaei-early-Meiji era (1848-1870).
