Matthew James Giteau (born 29 September 1982) is an Australian rugby union professional player who plays for San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR). Giteau plays as a utility back . His usual positions are inside centre and fly-half, although he started his career as a scrum-half.

Legendary Wallabies utility back Matt Giteau has announced his retirement from rugby, ending a career that saw him also play for the Brumbies, Western Force, Toulon, Suntory Sungoliath and the LA Giltinis.
Returning to defend that title with the Giltinis is Matt Giteau. Last season, Giteau’s efforts were hugely influential in the team’s success in their debut season, playing 13 games in the 2021, scoring 13 points in the MLR Final and earning the Man of the Match award.
