Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Filósofo francés. Nació en Rochefort-sur-Mer. Entre 1926 y 1930 estudió en la École Normale Supérieure de París. Luego fue profesor de filosofía en varios institutos de enseñanza secundaria (Beauvois en 1931-33, Chartres, 1934-35, institutos Carnot y Condorcet en París entre 1940-44).
