  3. 1 de abr. de 2001 · Chicago continued to be an important city in the evoluation of Roach's quintet, as he picked up pianist Eddie Baker and bassist Bob Cranshaw there in 1958 and in fact recorded Max Roach + 4 On The Chicago Scene at Universal Recording there. Neither of the Chicago-based musicians joined Roach's group, though.

  4. Max Roach + 4. Max Roach + 4 is an LP recorded by jazz drummer Max Roach, which featured Kenny Dorham on trumpet, Sonny Rollins on tenor sax, Ray Bryant on piano, and George Morrow on bass. [1] It was the first album Roach recorded after his collaborators, trumpeter Clifford Brown and pianist Richie Powell, died in a car crash in June 1956.
