One of the reasons why homophobia was easily incorporated into psychoanalysis was and is because it's an incredibly moralistic theory post-Freud. Klein and many subsequent analysts up to this day clearly talk about "right morality" being a part of "normal" debelopment. This is most visible in clinical literature on personality disorders.
