Michael Fergus Bowes-Lyon, 18th and 5th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, DL (7 June 1957 – 27 February 2016), styled Lord Glamis between 1972 and 1987, was a British politician and soldier, and a first cousin, once removed, of Queen Elizabeth II. He was usually known to family and friends as Mikey Strathmore.

30 de oct. de 2023 · Michael Albemarle Bowes-Lyon was born in Hertfordshire, England on 29 May 1940, the youngest child and second son of Lt Col Hon. Michael Claude Hamilton Bowes-Lyon and Elizabeth Margaret Cator, (scion of that gentry family of Woodbastick). He usually went by his middle name of Albemarle and was known as 'Alby' by his family. [1] .
He rose to the rank of Captain in the British Army, serving with the Scots Guards. He succeeded his father as 18th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne in 1987. Prior to the succession, he was styled Lord Glamis from 1972 to 1987. Lord Strathmore was married three times.
