Between 1925 and 1937, Montlhéry was the unofficial home of the French Grand Prix, losing out on only a handful of occasions to the likes of Miramas and Reims. In that period French motor racing enthusiasts were treated to a series of world firsts that earned the circuit a place in history.

15 de mar. de 2024 · The longest configuration Linas-Montlhéry allows measures 12.5 kilometers or 7.767 miles, and it was used for the Grands Prix pre-WWII, plus the then-famous 1000km of Paris sportscar races later on. It incorporated the second banked oval turn, usually with chicanes installed. The layout already makes the track odd.

14 de mar. de 2024 · The first French GP at Montlhéry in 1925 ended in tragedy as Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Ascari crashed fatally near Les Biscornes. The track held the French GP again in 1927, 1931 and 1933. The 1934 race saw the international debut for the Auto Union and Mercedes but the German teams had not yet found the reliability and Chiron could take a popular victory for Alfa Romeo.
22 de mar. de 2024 · When World War 2 brought an end to Grand Prix racing the SEFAC was laid up and forgotten. The car was discovered in the catacombs at Montlhéry many decades later and purchased by the current owner. This illustrious GP car is being restored to top condition.
