Overview. As the group was still looking for a drummer following the departure of Alex Acuña, outside drummers Tony Williams and Steve Gadd appear along with Peter Erskine, who would become Acuña's replacement. Singers Deniece Williams and Maurice White also appear on the track "And Then."

He then collaborated alongside Deniece Williams on Weather Report's 1978 album Mr. Gone. The album was issued on ARC Records, his subsidiary label at Columbia. Mr. Gone rose to No. 1 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. Weather Report's follow up LPs 8:30, Night Passage and Weather Report were also issued on ARC.

It was originally released in 2002 on Live and Unreleased, and is included on the version of Mr. Gone that is part of the 2012 boxed set Weather Report The Columbia Albums 1976-1982.
