10 de oct. de 2022 · Saladin was born in Tikrit, what is now north of Baghdad, Iraq, in the year 1137 to Sitt Al-Mulk Khatun and Najm Ad-Din Ayyub. His family was of Kurdish heritage and followed the Sunni branch of Islam. His father was a Kurdish soldier and administrator under the employment of the Seljuk Turks. He seemed to have been well educated from an early age.
