Nawwaf bin Nuri Al Sha'alan (Arabic: نواف بن نوري الشعلان, romanized: Nawwaf bin Nouri as-Shaalan; 1883–1921) was the son of the paramount chief of the Ruwallah, Nuri bin Hazaa Al Shalaan, and governor of Al Jawf from 1909 to 1919, when it was re-captured by the Emirate of Jabal Shammar.
Nuri bin Hazaa Al Shalaan (Arabic: نوري بن هزاع الشعلان, romanized: Nuri ibn Hazaa as-Shaalan; 1847–1942) was the chieftain of Ruwallah tribe settled in northern Arabia and the Syrian Desert. He headed the tribe between 1904 and 1942 and developed alliances with various ruling forces in the region.

Nayef bin Fawwaz Al Shaalan Al Ruwaily (born 1956) (Arabic: نايف بن فواز الشعلان) is a Saudi Arabian diplomat and businessman. As a grandson of Prince Nuri Al-Shaalan, Nayef is a prince and a member of the House of Al-Shaalan. Business career. Nayef invested in the oil business in Colombia and Venezuela.

Nawwaf ibn Nuri Sha’lan , as head of the ibn Sha’alan, a shaikhly family, not as the chief of the tribe, founded ‘The Sha’lan kingdom of Northern Arabia’ taking al-Jauf as a base (Musil 1928, 162). Nawwaf had the support of ibn Sa’ud, himself fighting ibn Rashid (168). This alliance was favored by most Rwala (280).
