Hace 4 días · The policies perpetuating American imperialism and expansionism are usually considered to have begun with "New Imperialism" in the late 19th century,  though some consider American territorial expansion at the expense of Native Americans to be similar enough in nature to be identified with the same term.

Rather than “conquering” another nation, governments will seek to establish military bases, use colonies for cheap resources, and use their markets to sell manufactured goods. Most new imperialist endeavors focused on Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
