Newcome's School was a fashionable boys' school in Hackney, then to the east of London, founded in the early 18th century. A number of prominent Whig families sent their sons there. The school closed in 1815, and the buildings were gutted in 1820. In 1825 the London Orphan Asylum opened on the site. Today the Clapton Girls' Academy is located here.

Peter Newcome (1715–1779) [1] was an English educator and Fellow of the Royal Society . Life. He was the son of Henry Newcome LL.D. of Hackney (died 1756) and Lydia Morland. His father established Newcome's School there, a noted private academy. [2] [3] Richard Newcome was his uncle. [4] .
Henry Newcome. Died 1797. He was the eldest of five sons of Henry Newcome, the headmaster of Newcome s School at Hackney, an establishment which educated a large number of future members of parliament and other prominent individuals in the Whig interest.
