Niall Diarmid Campbell, 10th Duke of Argyll was born on 16 February 1872. 1 He was the son of Lord Archibald Campbell and Janey Sevilla Callander. 1 He died on 20 August 1949 at age 77, unmarried. 1
The 10th Duke Niall Diarmid Campbell was appointed HM Lord Lieutenant of Argyllshire in 1923, an office he held until his death in 1949. The 10th Duke was one of a long line of Campbells to hold the position of Lord Lieutenant of Argyllshire and later Lord Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute.
