  7. 1786-1840. NICHOLAS Aylward Vigors was descended from an English parson. Rev, Louis Vigors of Holloden, North Devon, who came to Ireland c.1615. "Holloden" near the Royal Oak recalls the family's origins. In the 1690s a Vigors was Bishop of Leighlin in the Church of Ireland. His chair is still in the sanctuary of the cathedral in Old Leighlin.
