Niko Pirosmanashvili (georgiano: ნიკო ფიროსმანაშვილი; Mirzaani, Georgia; 5 de mayo de 1862 - 9 de abril de 1918), conocido también como Niko Pirosmani, fue un pintor primitivista georgiano.

Nikoláy Aslánovich Pirosmanashvíli (Georgian: ნიკოლოზ ფიროსმანაშვილი) or Niko Pirosmani (Georgian: ნიკო ფიროსმანი), simply referred to as Nikala (ნიკალა Nik’ala; 1862–1918), was a Georgian painter who posthumously rose to prominence.
Tras la guerra desarrolló una reputación internacional, al ganarse la admiración como pintor naïf en París y en otros lugares. El primer libro sobre Pirosmanashvili fue publicado en georgiano, ruso y francés en 1926. Inclusive su figura inspiró a Pablo Picasso hacer un esbozo de retrato en 1972.

Niko Pirosmanashvili, también conocido como Niko Pirosmani, nació en Mirzaani, provincia de Kajeti, Georgia, el 5 de mayo de 1862. De familia de campesinos, se quedó huérfano muy pequeño, quedando bajo la tutela de sus hermanas mayores. En 1872 marchó a Tifilis para trabajar sirviendo en una casa.
Posthumously celebrated Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani was a true artist's artist and a prime example of the starving artist archetype. Self-taught, he used his life in the progressive country of Georgia as fodder to create works illustrating the customs, traditions, environments, and culture of his native land.
