18 de abr. de 2024 · Ole Roemer, Danish astronomer who demonstrated conclusively that light travels at a finite speed. This was accomplished when he accurately predicted the eclipse of Io in November 1676. Roemer later served as Denmark’s royal mathematician. Learn more about his life and work.

Hace 4 días · Ole Christensen Rømer used an astronomical measurement to make the first quantitative estimate of the speed of light in the year 1676. When measured from Earth, the periods of moons orbiting a distant planet are shorter when the Earth is approaching the planet than when the Earth is receding from it.

The Rose Bed, Theme Gardens and the Collection of Grasses and Perennials are other interesting places in the garden. The areas are tended by volunteers, the Friends of the Botanical Garden. Professor Carsten Thomassen in the Section for Algorithms, Logic and Graphs at DTU Compute, is awarded the Ole Rømer Gold Medal 2022 for his outstanding research efforts in mathematics and graph theory.

Alt sammen for at give besøgende en bedre oplevelse, når de kommer for at kigge på stjerner, planeter og galakser i verdensrumm..
24 de abr. de 2024 · Ole Rømer Observatoriet i Aarhus er nomineret til at modtage årets Renoverpris. I alt 14 renoveringsprojekter er udpeget til prisen ud af 160 indstillede projekter.
