Biography. Orazio Farnese was born in Valentano in Lazio, Italy in February 1532, the illegitimate son of Pier Luigi Farnese, himself the illegitimate son of Pope Paul III [1] With the death of his father on 10 Sep 1547 he became 2nd Duke of Castro while the other titles went to his legitimate brother, Ottavio.
