Founded in 1326 by King Alfred, Oriel College is the fifth oldest of the University of Oxford’s colleges, with the majority of its buildings dating from the 17th century onwards. Oriel does not have a preference for Maths or Biology at A level, and students taking one non-science A level are encouraged to apply. Oriel College has beautiful historic buildings dating from the 14th to the 21st Century. Oriel attaches great importance to the academic and social integration of graduates into the life of the college. There are regular symposia, organised by the Middle Common Room (MCR), where graduate students can present and discuss their research.
