Otto I (c. 1272 – 17 January 1328) was Landgrave of Upper Hesse from 1308 and then Landgrave of Lower Hesse from 1311 until his death. Otto was born in Marburg, a son of Henry I, Landgrave of Hesse and his first wife Adelheid of Brunswick-Lunenburg.

Otón I de Hesse (c. 1272 -17 de enero de 1328) fue Landgrave de Hesse desde 1308 hasta su muerte. Biografía. Otón nació en Marburgo, hijo de Enrique I de Hesse y de su primera esposa Adelaida de Brunswick. Tras la muerte de su padre en 1308, heredó Alto Hesse, que incluía Marburgo, Giessen, Grünberg y Alsfeld.

Er starb schon jung. Angeblich fiel er einem Giftanschlag zum Opfer, der durch den Abt Heinrich VII. von Kranlucken des Klosters Fulda veranlasst wurde.
